Mrs. Z
Director
A Christian, a mother, and a natural leader, Mrs. Z earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and human resources from the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina. A native of Puerto Rico, a small island with enormous flavor, music, and folklore, her Caribbean background gives her extraordinary bilingual skills in English and Spanish. This meshes perfectly with San Antonio's Hispanic heritage.
Mrs. Z has lived here for more than 15 years. An early childhood education professional, she is the owner and director of our licensed child care program. She serves her community as the garden steward for El Dorado Community Garden and is an active member of the El Dorado Homes Association.
She stays busy managing her business, serving her community, and others. When Mrs. Z has some free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, playing sports, and listening and dancing to all kinds of music. Her mission in life is:
- To leave this world better than how she found it
- To leave a legacy of faith and love
- To be remembered for all the love, positivity, and hope she spread to others
Mrs. M
School Manager
Mayerlin González (Mrs. M) is proud to be the center's school manager. Originally from Venezuela and raised in Puerto Rico, she's been an educator for almost a decade. She got her start with our center as the lead infant teacher when it was a home-based program.
Over the years, she's trained and worked very hard to gain experience and grow into her current position on the administrative team. Mrs. M has completed her director’s certification and will soon enter into this role for our program, leading an amazing group of educators who truly love their careers and aspire to devote themselves to their students.
She is pursuing her infants and toddlers CDA Credentialing/child development associate accreditation with a specialization in Spanish. Mrs. M recently completed Year 1 in the Texas School Ready Program and is in the midst of Year 2. Certified in first aid and CPR as well as in other safety and security protocols, she's worked with all age groups - infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and summer camp students.
Mrs. M has a real passion for working with each student, especially the babies, seeing how they discover the world in front of them and discover many things. Helping each child to progress in all areas of their development (academic, social, language, and motor skill) is her goal.
She loves teaching! Her favorite subjects are arts and crafts, nature (plants, flowers, leaves, and insects), and exploring our surroundings. Mrs. M strives to support the day-to-day operations of the center and train our team of educators to encourage growth in a fun and positive environment for our students.
Married for almost 20 years, Mrs M has two fantastic boys. Her hobbies include dancing and listening to music. Her favorite color is white; her favorite food is pasta dishes from Olive Garden, and her favorite treats are white chocolate and cappuccinos.
